Public API of the DNS tools

All the tools of the site are available as a REST API: GET requests, JSON responses, CORS enabled.

Base URL: https://www.3load.com/api/v1

Rate limit: 100 points every 10 minutes per IP address. Cost: dns 1, reverse 1, whois 2, dnsbl 3, ssl 3, mail 5, propagation 5, scout 10. With a key (X-API-Key header) no limit applies: request one from contacts.

HTTP codes: 200 ok, 400 invalid parameter, 404 tool or domain not found, 429 limit exceeded (Retry-After header), 503 service unavailable. Every response carries the X-RateLimit-Limit and X-RateLimit-Remaining headers.

DNS records of a domain. Without "type" it returns all main records read from the authoritative name server; with "type" it queries the resolver.

Reverse lookup of an IPv4/IPv6 address: PTR, FCrDNS check, AS, network and country.

`GET /api/v1/whois`

Whois of a domain of any extension (whois or RDAP, including the registrar) or of an IPv4 address. For domains it also returns availability: available, registered, reserved or unknown.

Check against 79 DNS blacklists. With "domain" the IP of the first MX server is checked too.

`GET /api/v1/ssl`

TLS/SSL certificate and chain for the web (HTTPS) or mail. For mail services on a domain it auto-discovers the servers via MX (inbound SMTP) or SRV records (IMAP/POP/submission). Returns validity, expiry, host match, trust, chain, key and signature.

`GET /api/v1/mail`

Mail diagnostics: SPF, DKIM (common selectors + the given one), DMARC, MX, transport policy (MTA-STS, TLS-RPT, BIMI) and outbound reputation (DNSBL) of the MX and domain IPs. Active SMTP tests (open relay, mailbox verification) are not exposed via the API.

DNS propagation: queries the public resolvers of a country and compares A, MX and TXT with the authoritative records.
